We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Future of Farming Champion Award which is for a farm which is making an outstanding contribution to improving young people’s understanding of the food and farming sector. Activities may be across any or all age ranges to include, for example, encouraging entrepreneurship through school farmers’ markets, offering work experience or explaining career opportunities.
“Farmers across the country make an outstanding contribution to helping children learn about food, farming and the natural environment, and these awards are designed to recognise and celebrate those individuals who dedicate their time and energy to this cause.” FACE website 2017.
To even get shortlisted is a huge achievement and is testament to our team who work hard to deliver educational visits to all visiting schools and groups, including Lancaster University, Primary Schools, Specialist schools and even our local Girl Guide group. Well done to all our team and fingers crossed for the next stage of the competition.
